In 1994, CSA used the first Toronto SPV stentless aortic valve in the United States. CSA surgeons now frequently use the Cox-MAZE procedure to treat chronic atrial fibrillation when mitral valve surgery is indicated. This high quality, state-of-the-art service is directly responsible for St. Thomas Hospital being named the only Five Star Heart Hospital in Tennessee.
