Today, CSA's 13 members include 9 active cardiac surgeons, one general thoracic surgeon and three senior surgeons who assist in the operating room and with administrative matters. All CSA members are Board-certified in both General and Cardiothoracic Surgery, which requires a minimum of five years of General Surgery training and two years of Cardiothoracic Residency. Four surgeons have additional certification in Surgical Critical Care.
