CSA
has a dedicated General Thoracic Surgery and Thoracic Surgical
Oncology team, providing comprehensive care to patients with lung
cancer, other malignant diseases of the chest, and benign chest
diseases. CSA's
thoracic team advocates a true multidisciplinary approach, coordinating
patient care with other cancer care disciplines, including Medical
Oncology, Radiation Oncology, and surgery. The group is actively
engaged in Clinical Research in association with the American
College of Surgeons and the National Cancer Institute.
Our group also manages benign illnesses of the chest including
treatment for hyperhydrosis, infectious diseases of the lung and
pleura, benign tumors of the lung, mediastinum and chest wall,
and benign esophageal disease including refractory gastroesophageal
reflux. Laser therapy and minimally invasive techniques are an
integral part of management techniques.
